AT&T Testing Streaming Wireless Video

from the but-why? dept

As per usual, I think I must be missing something here. I’ve been curious about what the point of companies like PacketVideo have been for a while – and now I find out that AT&T Wireless is testing streaming video to wireless devices. Why? I see a very small market for this, with huge costs. What are the compelling applications for being able to watch streaming video on a mobile phone that will make it worth the expense? Hopefully someone can explain to me what I’ve been missing.
