The End Of HP As We Knew It?

from the long-gone-already dept

Yet another anti-HPaq merger article. This one talks about how difficult it is for a company to handle big mergers and continue to innovate at the same time. The suggestion is that if this merger goes through, it will kill HP’s innovative spirit – and not make it a place where smart techies will want to work. Of course, I don’t think HP has been high on the list of many techies for a while. Not that many don’t see it as a good place to work, but when techies are coming out of college and looking for a place to work on cool new technologies, they don’t pick HP first as a place where cool work is being done. It seems a bit more like the Ford Tauruses they used to give out to employees there: fairly conservative and reliable, but not much fun to drive.
