Okay, not that I was ever a huge fan of TechTV, but I’ve always sort of liked them since they did a whole story on Techdirt and were pretty damn friendly about it when I made fun of them. So, it’s too bad to see that they’re joining the crowd in laying off folks. It’s really not that surprisng though. TechTV never really got very far in terms of distribution deals – which they would need to get to profitability. In other news, the article also mentions that Red Herring has shut down their conference division (which I had assumed actually made them money – guess not) and laid off a bunch of people. Maybe that explains why they haven’t updated their website in over a week.
