Biggest Threat To Security: Easy Installations
from the make-'em-harder! dept
What’s the biggest threat to computer security these days? Well, the experts say it’s all those super easy quick, no hassle software installations. They’re so easy, because they basically turn on lots of features and install lots of software with no thoughts towards security. It’s convenience over security – and the experts are saying that’s the wrong way to go. I used to always look at the “custom” install options on applications I installed, but every time I ended up doing the default installation anyway. I’m not sure many people know enough about their computers and software that doing a “custom” install will help at all. In many cases I could see it being worse.
