The Latest On Free Wireless Access
from the ISPs-getting-angrier dept
Well, this is no surprise. News.com finally came out with their version of the article about people who set up a free wireless internet access point in their homes (everyone else had already written their version of the article). The main difference with this one, is that they went and spoke with some broadband ISPs and they’re pissed off. They’re going to start looking for ways to crack down on people setting up a WiFi network for their neighbors to use.

I hope this doesn’t lead to a crack down on people having home networks on a single IP. Something tells me Pacbell is not smart enough to do this.
Re: No Subject Given
The single IP solution won’t work… They’ll have to limit your bandwidth or something…. Oops, can’t download that file today, you’ve exceeded your limit…. Or you’re bits will be meted out like your electric bill. Start investing in compression technology! 😛
