AIBO Requires Too Much Responsibility
from the demanding-robots dept
An amusing article from a reporter who was testing out a new AIBO dog robot and was horrified to realize that it required real responsibility. The robot wants, and sometimes needs, attention. Of course, the one good thing is that if it gets too annoying you can just shut it off. The article is funny just to read the reporter’s quotes, which make her sound like the any person who doesn’t ever deal with children, when they’re handed a baby. “Oh my God! What’s he doing now? What’s AIBO doing?”

Robo-dog
$2300 for a robot dog? That will feed and care for both of my dogs for five years! And they keep miscreants away from my house. My Rottweiler can make it to this fence in five seconds…can you?
