Onboard Computers For Bicycles
from the it's-about-time dept
So, it turns out that I’m not the only person who gets confused figuring out which of the 21 gears on my bicycle I should be using at any particular time. Most people seem to over or under shift when cycling. Along comes Shimano to the rescue. They’ve built an onboard bicycle computer that will turn your manual bicycle into an automatic. The computer will also adjust the suspension as you ride. I’d be interested to see how well this sort of thing works – but the expense (between $2,000 and $3,000) and the added weight probably makes it not particularly practical for a lot of riders.
