The Death Of Bluetooth

from the short-life-span dept

Bill Gurley is telling everyone that Bluetooth wireless connectivity is dead and he might be right. He suggests that 802.11b has killed the need for Bluetooth, as it allows you to do a lot more for the same price. I still understand those who point out that Bluetooth serves a different purpose, and I’m not ready to pronounce Bluetooth dead – but some of the points he makes are definitely valid. I think Bluetooth has had a problem from the beginning of people giving it credit for being able to do too much.
