Different Ways Of Thinking About Intellectual Property

from the discuss-amongst-yourselves dept

The “intellectual property” question pops up here quite often, and I have some very strong opinions on it. Ars Technica has a very interesting opinion piece that tries to take the debate to a new (and much more thought provoking) level then what it currently is at. It starts out by pointing out that most debates on the subject turn into shouting match between those who believe “information must be free” vs. information is property. The Ars Technica article tries to get beyond that and look at some of the issues involved in the debate going on at a higher level.
