The Secret To E-Commerce Success

from the no-secret-at-all... dept

A column over at MSNBC suggesting the amazing “secrets of a successful e-commerce business”. The secrets he points out are that the service has to change our lives, be cheap (but not stupid), and pander to our baser instincts. He singles out eBay and AOL for meeting these criteria. He says that Yahoo! and Amazon didn’t actually change our lives – which I think is in the eye of the beholder. I could certainly point out ways that both sites have “changed” some aspect of my life. Anyway, not that anyone asked, but I’ll also give you my “secrets” to e-commerce success: Figure out a way to sell stuff for more than what it costs you. That’s it.
