eBay Scam Artist Caught

from the thanks-to-your-clues dept

It’s almost like a case of America’s Most Wanted “online” where the fact that MSNBC ran a report about a guy who was ripping off eBay users left and right, helped lead to his capture. Last month we posted the story about Jay Nelson ripping off unsuspecting eBay buyers. A Florida radio station mentioned the story on air after reading it on MSNBC. The owner of a small coin collecting shop who heard the broadcast recognized Jay Nelson’s name (amazingly, despite having a number of online aliases, he used his real one in the shop) and even had a copy of his driver’s license. She called the authorities and they hung around her store until he showed up again and arrested him.
