Advertisers Drooling Over IM

While we’ve talked here before about the concept of using chatter bots over IM software to allow people to get info, now companies are starting to think about ways it can be an advertising medium (NY Times link, so you know what that means). For some very obvious reasons this scares a lot of people. Email spam is bad enough, though I can ignore it. If I start getting IM spam, I’m going to be pissed off. Such things could really kill the value of IM systems.
