Compaq Should Spin Off iPaq

Here’s a suggestion from the Red Herring that Compaq spin off its iPaq division. They make all the arguments about “unleashing” the stock value that could be gained out of such a move. Of course, if you look at how well Palm and Handspring are doing these days you have to wonder if the folks in the iPaq division really want that sort of death sentence or would prefer to be a happy part of a larger, protective concern.
