Job Market Still Strong

from the just-more-picky dept

All this talk about layoffs and downturns has some people scared, but it seems as though, the job market is holding up okay. People in technology are still finding jobs, though it may take a little longer than in the past. The companies are a little more picky then before, but there’s still plenty of demand for tech workers. I was just discussing this with someone yesterday – how it’s becoming increasingly difficult to tell the good workers from the bad ones, because all their resumes look the same these days. They’ve all worked at 3 or 4 startups in the past few years, none of which were really successful. So, it’s definitely more difficult for companies to figure out who’s really smart, and who’s just been bounced around.
