How Much For The Failed Dot Com In The Window?

from the selling-stuff-off dept

An Ecommerce Times article that takes a look at the failed dot coms that are selling off their assets. Generally, it seems that larger, established, brick-and-mortar companies are buying up the failed dot com domain names as a method of cheap customer acquisition. I wonder, though, how well it will actually work out. The article talks about all the customers that used to go to these sites before they failed as if they’ll automatically go back to the new sites. I’d imagine that many of these people will know that companies such as eToys went out of business – and just because they bought there before, it doesn’t mean they’re going to be any more interested in suddenly buying from KBToys.com.
