Teen Entrepreneurs

from the still-working-hard dept

Yet another story that feels like something you would have read two or three years ago, about two teenagers who started a wireless search company while they were still in high school. The company now provides the wireless search tools for Terra Lycos and Verizon. They did hire a seasoned telecom exec to be CEO, but he left after 2 months due to “culture clash”. So now they’re relying on one of the teens to be CEO, and the venture capitalists backing the company seem happy with that. I’m generally weary of news stories that focus on things like the age of founders, rather than the business – but they do talk enough about what the company did, that it sounds like these guys might be on to something. Whether or not they can make real money off of it, still needs to be seen.
