Every Million Counts
from the how-to-cut-costs-for-real dept
A very good article that points out that generally, layoffs are not a very good way to cut costs. They look closely at the way IBM is cutting costs – which is looking carefully at everything they spend on figuring out where they can trim fat – without hurting themselves long term. As I’ve said before, over the past few years people only looked at the benefit side of the cost-benefit equation, and lately they’re just looking at the cost side. Good companies know how to look at the big picture and dig deep to figure out how to make smarter long term decisions that get rid of wasteful spending.
