eBay Prices Dropping
from the kidneys-for-20%-off dept
A new study shows the prices that people bid for on eBay itesm has been dropping which could upset sellers. eBay has been increasing their listing prices, and if the returns are getting lower for sellers, then that could be a problem. Of course, for buyers, this could mean more deals. Just think how much NewYorkCity.com would have gone for a year ago.

My experience confirms this
I recently auctioned a motherboard and two Intel processors, and got about HALF of what I was expecting. I ran my auction before Intel cut prices on their recent processors, so I was really surprised by the lack of response. Prior to that I auctioned a hardware firewall and got about maybe 20% less than I was expecting.
Two years ago I was able to auction electronic goodies and actually get more than the selling price. I guess we went from one extreme to another.
supply and demand, no?
isn’t this just a classic case of supply and demand? prices of “collectible” items go down since pre-ebay, they were alot harder to find. Now that it’s truly a global marketplace, anyone anywhere can find those “hard-to-find” items.. thereby driving prices down.
