Don't Worry, Gates Is Still Richest

All this week I’ve been avoiding posting stories about Bill Gates no longer being the richest guy in the world – which is what UK’s Sunday Times came up with earlier in the week. Every media outlet seemed to pick up the story with glee. Now, Forbes points out that the Sunday Times is wrong and Gates is still richer than the Walton kid. What interested me most about this was how quickly so many news outlets trumpeted huge headlines about Gates dropping to number 2 as if it was the defining end to the technology revolution. It seems that the press is a little too quick to accept a good headline these days.
