It seems that it’s just not as much fun being a venture capitalist when you actually have to work at it. Red Herring has a good article looking at what VCs are doing these days. Mostly, they’re dealing with their current portfolio companies that are trying to survive. They’re also having a lot more trouble raising their own funds. All those people who thought being a VC was the easy way to fame and fortune are suddenly discovering that it might actually take real work.
