There have been a ton of “my startup failed and this is my oh-so-unique story”. Most of them are pretty boring. Here’s one that’s a bit better. The former Washington bureau chief of the UK’s The Independent left them a while back to take part in that dot com thing that was going on at the time. He explains his experiences, and points out that not all failed dot coms were simply wasting money and run by kids looking to get rich quick. It’s a good story, and while it’s fun to trash silly dot coms for failing, this one is probably a bit more accurate for the experiences that many people had at dot coms.
