A Look At E-Government

from the where-everything-is-headed dept

CNET has a good story from McKinsey Quarterly all about various initiatives in e-government. It seems that webifying government processes can actually make things more efficient (imagine that!). The interesting part, however, is how some governments are working with private companies to add additional services to their web offerings (such as the IRS’s link to Intuit). Since many government web services are mandatory they have built in traffic that can help any company that gets involved with them – and probably hurt their competition.
