Long Distance Dads

from the the-virtual-family dept

A somewhat touching story in the Washington Post about how a father stays in touch with his teenaged son who’s lived 500 miles away since he was 9 years old (though it doesn’t say it in the article, it’s clear that the parents are divorced). He uses technology such as instant messaging to help bridge the distance gap, but in the end he still misses the actual closeness that a computer can’t match.
