A Dot Com Success Story?

from the people-paying-money? dept

With all the failures going on, it’s pretty difficult to find a dot com success story. It looks like Classmates.com might be a success. They apparently have about a million paying subscribers from people who want to communicate with former high school friends they’ve lost touch with. I’ve used the site for a few years (though, I’m not a paying member) and thought it was nice, but not particularly useful. They also used to send random annoying blank emails, though they’ve gotten better about that. The article has some stories about people finding former friends. There’s even one (slightly bizarre) story of some guy who found the first woman he kissed – both of them are now divorcing their current spouses and are talking about marrying each other. That’s a great slogan: “Classmates.com. We’ll break up your marraige.”
