Is There A Glass Ceiling In Tech?

from the interesting-contrast dept

Two articles that I read one after the other paint an interesting (and somewhat confusing) of how women are viewed in the technology world. First, is a study saying that there’s definitely a glass ceiling in the tech world where women can’t rise above a certain level. However, another article says that there’s strong demand for women in tech companies these days – though often as designers and creative people. This second article also points out that there is a greater percentage of women CEOs in tech companies than in the Fortune 500. Of course, that’s not hard at all considering there are apparently only two women CEOs in the Fortune 500. Startups had 6% with women CEOs – which still seems ludicrously low.
