The Kids Are Alright Online

from the don't-worry-about-the-kids dept

An article over at Tech Review talking about why the internet is a very useful thing for teenagers growing up (as opposed to a dangerous object that teenagers need to be protected from). It runs through the standard arguments which I’ve heard before (and support for the most part), but it’s a good summary. I still don’t fully understand people who chose to blame the internet for children who do bad things. It seems like a cop out, to me. They don’t want to blame other people, so it’s easy to blame this “thing”: the internet.

blaming the Internet

I know someone who blames and doesn’t understand the Internet – George W Bush.
He doesn’t even use e-mail!
