Moreover Signs Deal With Inktomi

from the moving-on-up dept

Moreover, which apparently provides a news “search” service has partnered with Inktomi. This is an interesting deal for a number of reasons. First, it’s interesting for Inktomi since it gives them a slight differentiator on their competitors (though, one that’s not likely to last long). For Moreover, though, it’s a clear indication of the direction they’re moving in. I’m a big fan of Moreover, but as a news aggregation service rather than a “search engine”. In searching for news, I’ve always found Moreover to be pretty weak. However, it seems that they’ve now been making changes to their aggregation interface, which I think make it worse. I guess this is to focus on their “core business” of search.
