Dell Makes Amends For Pricing Error

from the if-it-looks-too-good-to-be-true,-it-is dept

Dell decided to honor the sales of some systems at a “super” discounted rate, rather than endure a bigger public relations mess than they already had on their hands. It seems that some customers were able to buy a specific series of Dell desktop with two separate promotions kicking in, instead of just one as should have been the case. Needless to say, many customers were very disppointed. Look, I understand their disappointment, but just as newspaper fliers contain disclaimers for errors, so do online sites. People need to accept that as more and more commerce is done online, these errors will happen, and if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
