Bertelsmann Sees The Napster Way

from the the-beginning-of-the-end? dept

You knew it had to happen sooner or later. Napster has begun cutting deals with major labels to create “subscription” services. While I definitely understand why, I wonder what this will really mean for Napster, and if these deals are effectively going to shut Napster down anyway. I think it’s good that the labels are trying to figure out a solution, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see their heavy hand impose pointless restrictions.
