MP3 Players That Look Like Cassettes
from the Retro-Look dept
Imagine an mp3 player that was shaped like a cassette so that you play it in any tape deck. Now imagine it worked almost exactly like a cassette tape so you could use the fast forward buttons…. What a great idea for a retro mp3 player, right? So why hasn’t anyone made an mp3 player that looks like an 8-track? Or how about a DVD player that looks like a VHS tape? (I’m joking)

Re: retro mp3 player
i want to play 45’s and LP’s in my car. Can anyone help me?
Re: Re: retro mp3 player
I seem to recall some device that used a laser to read LPs and store the info so that you wouldn’t degrade your records by playing them… But I doubt you’re really serious….
Re: Re: Re: retro mp3 player
um.. doesn’t reading your analog record into digital defeat the purpose of having it analog in the first place (one of the big reasons that audiophiles hate the digital revolution)?
life is analog.
Re: Re: Re:2 retro mp3 player
Well, I think those kind of audiophiles are nuts. Digital should defeat the purpose of having analog…. Unless you like random white noise with your music. And you can always add that later with DSP.
And life actually isn’t analog. Quantum mechanics says so!
Neener neener neener. 🙂
Copycat!
Rome already makes one of these. I bet they’re pissed as hell!
Re: Copycat!
The Rome device was the first link of my post… But I’m not sure theirs has the tape player mechanisms that allow you to use it like a tape.
