Truste Means Business
from the well,-this-time,-anyway dept
Internet privacy “protector” Truste, which has run into a lot of trouble in the past for not really doing anything, is pissed off at a company that is using their “seal of approval” without having actually received approval. They’re suing the company for $1 million. I wonder what made the site put up the seal in the first place? Did they really think that no one would ever find it? And, if they thought it was that valuable to have the seal, why not just go through the actual process? Part of me wonders if there’s just one idiot there who thought you didn’t have to apply. I have heard of people who thought to be a Truste merchant you just had to put the seal on your page.
