TheBurglar.com May Be Illegal

Here’s an amusing one that I had not heard about. There’s a site called TheBurglar.com that lets victims of theft try to find and reclaim their stolen property. It also lets “whoever” happens to have that property list it for sale anonymously (or, rather for “reward”, not sale). Yes, if you hadn’t figured it out this is basically an online fencing operation with apparently noble goals (yeah, right). Well, after operating for some time in the US, they’ve opened up shop in the UK where the police have decided it’s breaking a few laws.

Wow. You don’t get more illegal than that. What are these guys thinking?!? I wonder if Blackmail.com is taken…. If you have information that could be potentially “worthwhile” for another individual to purchase, anonymously login and post your offer to your victim, uh, customer online!
