Wireless Location Services

from the the-next-hot-topic dept

I keep hearing more and more about wireless location services so here’s a good article about what it all means. The basic idea is that your wireless devices are a lot more valuable if your physical location can be pinpointed. My question is whether this value is to the user or to the company offering the services. I can definitely see some instances where location services could be useful, but I fear that this is an area that is going to get overhyped, and every company will want a piece of it, and users are going to get turned off by the amount of spam they get on their wireless devices. That would make the whole concept useless.
