AltaVista Admits that Unmetered Service Does Not Exist

Last week we posted a story about how no one could actually find any users of AltaVista’s unmetered ISP service in the UK despite AltaVista’s claims of 100,000 users. They finally admitted that the service doesn’t actually exist and blame BT for the problem. I still don’t understand why they pretended they actually did have the service available for so long.
