Here’s a long article looking at what caused ToySmart.com to fail. More importantly, the article goes into the chain reaction the failure may have caused. Companies that had done work for ToySmart never got paid and now are turning down work from other dot coms. It’s certainly not worth blaming ToySmart specifically, but it does give you an idea of how views have changed. Not included in that article, though, is the story of another company named ToySmart that chose not to buy the original domain, and now is having problems as everyone assumes they’re the out-of-business company.
