I always wondered how Amazon verified that it really was the author who left comments in the “author’s comments” area. Now I know the answer: they don’t verify it at all. Instead they just hope that people don’t mess with the system. Of course, some people have, and now authors are discovering comments that they never wrote have been up on Amazon for years. Oops.
