While many people claim that online banner advertisements really don’t do much, a new study suggests otherwise. This study has found that there’s a correlation between banner ads and traffic for pure-play e-commerce companies. Of course, the study was done by Ad Relevence, which has incentive to say good things about online advertising. Also, the question that isn’t answered by the study is how much value are the companies getting for their banner ads, as compared to how much they paid for them.
