New TLDs (Plus Suggestions for More)

from the dept

While there are tons and tons of articles about how ICANN finally got around to approving some new top level domains, I found it amusing that Ralph Nader’s group was suggesting that TLDs such as .sucks, .complaints, and .isnotfair be added to the list. The ICANN list (which won’t be revealed for some reason) won’t start being offered until near the end of this year. Of course, there also seem to be a ton of other problems with the new TLDs and the fact that ICANN hasn’t explained to anyone how they’re going to be phased in, despite having been working on this problem for years.
