Virtual Observatories

from the who-needs-a-telescope-anyway dept

Some more “science” notes: A good article in the Economist about virtual observatories for astronomy. Telescopes these days have been collecting so much data from the skies that there’s plenty of stuff to look at without having to actually use a telescope. Of course, none of this might matter in a few days as our planet might get swallowed up by a huge black hole created in NY. Not to be alarmist or anything.
