Running Out of Wireless Bandwidth
from the short-term-thinking dept
It seems that wireless LANs are running out of bandwidth. Now that was quick. Vendors are afraid that everyone’s going to have to replace their equipment rather soon. Of course, that sounds quite a bit like the PC world’s strategy for the past ten years. Make sure everything is obsolete within 2 years, and you guarantee continued market growth.

If you want to increase the effective bandwidth, decrease the range.
Bluetooth uses 2.4GHz, sure. But devices only use a 10m radius, meaning that beyond that 10m, that spectrum is free to be used by other devices.
