Health Ethics Online

from the do-they-exist? dept

A very interesting article about health sites online creating their own set of ethics standards. It seems that these sites, which have been known to be less than trustworthy in the past, are trying to create their own ethical standards to avoid government regulation. These are the same sites, though, that have been mixing what is really advertising material in with “health information” and trying to sell items of questionable health benefit. The authore of the article sounds wary about it all, and I think he’s right. Not that I’m a big fan of regulation, but I’m not sure these guys are the folks we want creating their own ethical standards.
