Portal Ads Vs. TV Ads

from the not-so-good dept

Robert Bowman wasn’t CEO of Outpost.com when they launched (literally) the famous flying gerbil ad. It’s interesting to see that now he claims that TV advertising did very little for the site. He also says that portal advertising did about the same (meaning next to nothing). I think he might be wrong about that. I know that the ads certainly brought them a lot of attention and a lot of folks I know remember Outpost simply because of those ads. The rest of the article has other opinions on the effectiveness of TV and portal advertising for dot coms.
