Congress Sees a Big Threat in Genealogy Sites?

from the call-out-the-legislators dept

This one came in as unexpected. It seems that a Congressman thinks that online genealogy sites are a threat and should be regulated. The problem seems to be that on some of these sites you can freely search information and get facts like someone’s mother’s maiden name, which is often used as a password or a check for credit cards and other items. I’m not sure this is such a big problem that it needs to be regulated, but it could present a problem.
