So, it seems that Ameritrade has been quietly experimenting with commission free trading. Sounds like a great idea that should catch on, right? Well, maybe not. This article over at Salon gives all the many reasons why people might find it necessary to pay a little commission on each trade, and the market for free trades may be very small.
