Work visas

from the big-debates dept

US work visas are in high demand from companies nationwide, particularly in tech centers. One of the most suprising things that was mentioned in this article was the fact that the granting of work visas are set to decline by half in a year or two! This seems set to change due to mounting political pressure being put on the government, tech companies need skilled tech workers (and there aren’t enough in the US).

Re: No talent? WRONG

Heh heh. I’ve heard this argument before, and as someone who has and is hiring techies, I haven’t found it. I’m more than willing to pay $100k to the right candidate. I just can’t find those candidates. The job market is tight. If there really are all these highly qualified, available computer engineers, why can’t I find them? Why is it that I have to deal with the INS and help people get H1 Visas and Greencards and still pay them $100k each?
