Criminal Courts No Good for Intellectual Property Cases?

from the legal-questions dept

An interesting article in News.com concerning going to criminal courts for intellectual property cases. The main focus of the article is the Avant/Cadence case, that stretches back many years. The gist of it is that a bunch of employees left Cadence and are accused of taking a ton of intellectual property (including source code) to Avant. However, the case has dragged on forever, making some wonder whether or not criminal courts are the best way to handle such matters, since any reparations will come so far after the case at hand.
