Scan This

from the virtual-shopping-list dept

Symbol Technologies plans on using its bar code scanning device and technology to cater to the dot coms. Basically a user can scan the bar code of (for example) a milk carton once all the milk is gone… In essence, the user would be creating a shopping list that could be uploaded to a dot com grocer.

The implications of this device are huge and many dot coms are looking into using it.

1.5 years ago, a company was going to provide comparitive shopping in real time with a palm…

So this is the logical extention.

And, unless it is free to the end-user you are gathering info aboute, no one will PAY money to do this…unless they like lotsa hi-tech toys.
