Getting in on Hot IPOs is Still Tricky

The old rule of thumb was that if you could get shares in an IPO then you probably didn’t want in. However, nowadays some companies have tried to change that. Wit Capital and E*Trade try to let retail investors get in on deals. However, apparently, it’s still not particularly easy to get an allocation of shares in hot offerings.
