Lawyer Salaries Go Up to Keep Them Away from Dot Coms

from the that-booming-economy dept

Thought this was pretty interesting. It seems that a number of law firms in Silicon Valley have significantly increased what they’re paying associates to keep them from jumping ship to the dot coms many of them work with. In response, law firms outside of the Valley have also had to raise their starting salaries. It will be interesting to see what happens. I think, if I were a lawyer, I would just try to get more equity out of dot coms I worked with, so that I’d have a portfolio of pre-IPO equity to deal with rather than putting all eggs in one basket.
