ZDNet selling publishing unit for $780 Million

from the Is-paper-REALLY-dead? dept

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Ziff-Davis is selling off its publishing unit to the private investment firm Willis Stein & Partners. The publishing unit includes PC Week, Inter@ctive Week and Yahoo! Internet Life. This begs the question: Is paper-based publishing really dying? Can having massive circulation, revenue and brand exposure really be a bad part of your business? Update by Mike: If you have problems with paying the WSJ for their news you also might want to check out the New York Times version of the story, or if you have problems even registering with the NY Times, then go read the press release.
